The collision damage waiver offered by many car rental companies in the UK does not cover the comprehensive insurance of the car. A waiver is essentially a term which car rental companies advertise and may mean to the customer that they don’t have to pay for any damage if the car gets into an accident or gets damaged otherwise when in their care. The car company will not charge anything if the car gets damaged, but the customer still has to pay a hefty excess which can be as much as 1500 pounds or even more.
